Adriatic Cruise

Venice to Dubrovnik

aboard The NEW Ritz-Carlton Yacht Club ship, Evrima

July 2 - 9, 2022

Please join Judy Perl and Maggie Mantia onboard one of the most luxurious cruise lines in the world, The New Ritz-Carton Yacht Club!  This will be the first Virtuoso sailing of Evrima in the Mediterranean, sailing on July 2-9, 2022.

The entry of one of the world’s premier luxury hotel groups, Ritz-Carlton, into the world of cruises has been much anticipated. The 149 all-suite, all-inclusive ship offers 298 guests the intimacy of a yacht, the flawless service you’d expect from Ritz-Carlton, and, on this July 2022 itinerary, stops in some of the Adriatic Sea’s most historic and beautiful ports.

This exciting 7 night sailing will embark on Saturday in Venice, Italy and disembarks the following Saturday in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Day 1 - Venice

You’ll board Evrima in Venice, one of the most enchanting cities in the world, rising from its lagoon with its islands linked by a network of canals and bridges. A romantic gondola ride provides a perfect introduction to the city, gliding underneath the Ponte di Rialto – the oldest and most famous of Venice’s hundreds of bridges. You’ll pass the ornate palaces lining the Grand Canal. The power and wealth of the fabled Venetian Republic are on display at Piazza San Marco, the city’s most splendid square and home to the grand St. Mark’s Basilica and the Gothic Doge’s Palace. Priceless art collections also vie for attention, including the Italian masters in the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the modern works of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. If you have time to visit other islands on the lagoon, you can find some of the world’s most talented glassblowers on Murano, while the colorful shops of Burano are home to artisan lace makers.

Whether this is your first or your tenth visit to Venice, you’ll likely want to add a few days on before your sailing to experience the city. The team at JPT can assist with arrangements.

Day 2 - Piran, Slovenia

You’ll arrive in Slovenia, the second of three countries that you’ll visit on this cruise, when you enter the port of Piran this morning. The resort town is known as the gem of the Slovene Riviera, but it is its long history as part of the Venetian Republic that gives it a unique atmosphere as well as much of its dazzling architecture. Like many towns on the Adriatic, Piran is a warren of squares and alleyways that invite visitors to explore aimlessly, with charming and beautiful sights around every corner. Compared to some of its better-known neighbors, Piran has a quieter and more tranquil atmosphere, from Tartini Square to the city walls that offer views of the Adriatic surrounding the town on three sides. Just a short distance from Piran is another coastal city, Koper, whose culture, cuisine and architecture were also shaped by centuries of Venetian rule.

Day 3 - At Sea

With a day at sea, enjoy the unique opportunity to unplug and relax into the unhurried life on board Evrima. Enjoy a workout with a view at the gym, indulge in a relaxing spa treatment, watch the sky transform at sunset from The Observation Lounge, or find an intimate alcove in The Living Room and lose yourself in a favorite book.

Days 4-5 - Split, Croatia

Life in this exuberant city revolves around its outstanding UNESCO World Heritage Site, Diocletian’s Palace, named after the Roman emperor who ordered the construction of this elaborate complex of 220 buildings that make up the beating heart of this beautiful city. Home to around 3,000 people, Diocletian’s Palace is a precious Roman gem where the locals go about their daily lives undeterred by the fact that they’re living in a historical wonder. Its narrow alleyways are home to some wonderful restaurants and bars, so pull up a chair and sample the local pašticada (slabs of beef stewed in prunes and red wine), before heading to the charming Riva area at the harbor for a glass of a superb local wine and some world-class people-watching.

Day 6 - Korčula, Croatia

Sitting off the central Dalmatian coast, the wonderfully green island of Korčula is dotted with olive groves, vineyards, and pine forests. The main town’s pretty historic center exemplifies Croatia’s rich Venetian heritage. At its center, you’ll find the 15th-century St. Mark’s Cathedral rising high above the red-roofed Gothic and Renaissance buildings. Go wine-tasting in Smokvica or Cara; soak up some sun on a Lumbarda beach; or take a kayak tour of the islets of the Skoji archipelago—Badija is especially magical, with its pretty monastery. At the end of the day, watch the sun set at Massimo Bar in the town of Korčula. Located in the turrets of the 15th-century Zakerjan Tower, this bar can be accessed only by ladder.

Days 7-8 - Dubrovnik, Croatia

The explorer and poet Lord Byron is credited with coining the popular description of Dubrovnik as “the pearl of the Adriatic.” It is easy to see today why the city left him in awe: Coral-tiled roofs stand out against a backdrop of green hills that contrast sharply with the spectacular blue of the Adriatic Sea. Thick medieval walls wrap around beautiful Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains. Dubrovnik is truly amazing, and it’s no wonder this UNESCO World Heritage site played a central role as a setting in the Game of Thrones. Be sure to take a walk along the city ramparts. No matter how many times you’ve been to Dubrovnik, you can’t help being inspired by the ancient walls that survived sieges by countless invaders for centuries and still stand proudly today.

After you say farewell to the Evrima, if you want to spend more time in Dubrovnik or perhaps exploring other destinations nearby like the tiny nation of Montenegro or other seaside towns and islands in Croatia, JPT can assist with transfers, hotel reservations, and other details.
